What is the Tool Adapter Registry?

The Tool Adapter Registry is the central registry and capability router that maps Smart Shikka tools to adapter families. Before any future adapter execution, every tool action must pass through this registry to determine which adapter family handles it, what permissions are required, whether owner approval is needed, and whether a safe execution plan is required. In this preview, all live execution is disabled.

Adapter Selection Preview

In preview mode, adapter selection returns candidate information without persisting or selecting a production provider. Owner selection, server-side key configuration, and terms/pricing review are required before live execution.

Adapter Preflight

Preflight checks verify that all required controls (approval, execution plan, adapter allowlist, audit, rate limit) are in place before adapter execution. In preview mode, all preflight checks return blocked status.

Adapters require an execution plan and owner approval before live execution. External calls are routed through the External Service Toolkit. Adapter routing decisions can later be gated by Policy Decision API.
